A stunning driving game which is brutally unforgiving with a steep learning curve, but persevere and it offers one of the best and most rewarding racing experiences as a result. The only wheels that are compatible as far as I know are Thrustmaster and Fanatec. But there is certainly room for GTS and PC2 in anyone's library as they compliment each other well IMO.
What it lacked in content was forgiven because it was so good to play online and the best online racer for me since PGR2. GTS is great though and I was hooked after release for weeks and it kept me off my launch day Scorpio Xbox X. Forza is just tedious after a while for me and has appalling AI in F7 that just ram you constantly so no idea what happened there. It also has a much better feeling of being on the edge during races.
PC and PC2 are brilliant games and for me far more immersive than Forza or GT with the team chat over radio etc just adding to it. If GTS had similar it could be compared but it doesn't.
PC2 is bringing so much more go the table not only in content, but specifically in dynamic weather, time and track, plus simulated damage etc. It is completely pointless directly comparing it to GTS and knocking it because the graphics aren't as good etc. Was just reading through the thread and about to post in defence of PC2, so glad you went for it and enjoying it. There's a copy in the classifieds here for a Fiver - no connection to the seller Lots of real cars but the tracks are an entertaining mix of fictional street tracks. There's plenty to do in the base game and then there are various expansion packs for bikes and additional cars. Should be able to pick it up quite cheap used.ĭirt 4 came after it but I've not enough time to play what I already have.ĭrive Club is an excellent game and you should be in your collection if you like an arcade race.
When PC2 came out it was reportedly full of the same bugs as PC so I gave it a swerve.ĭirt Rally (on a wheel) is immensely rewarding and frankly viciously difficult - never tried it with a pad. I did a bit of online but it was mostly hit and very little miss if you take my drift The ability to race more or less any car on more or less any track was fun though - I mainly ended up hot lapping against myself though. The actual karting was OK but I found the AI pretty on rails and it's like a work out on a wheel (just like real karting).
The single player game was pretty tortuous starting you off in a go kart and making you go through a load of upgrade and career nonsense that I found as dull as any management activity. I just don't want to fork out more money and be disappointed.įWIW I have Project Cars GotY but not PC2, I bought it to go with a Thrustmaster T150 wheel and pedals. How does PC2 compare to F1 2017 graphically?Īny help appreciated. Whilst graphically F1 slightly disappointed at first comparing it to GT Sport, I really enjoy the game play and the graphics have been less of an issue. They certainly look better than F1 2017 which I also have. OK lighting isn't as good as GT Sport, and it doesn't look as polished but they still look good from what I can tell watching youtube. How bad/good are the graphics? Watching online they look OK to me. The tow biggest 'issues' that I read are that graphically it can't compete with GT sport, and that the driving is too difficult for use with the dual shock to the point of being unplayable, however this latter issue I've seen that you can 'fix' this by changing the settings such as deadzones and sensitivity is this right?
However, reading and watching reviews this series of games really seems to divide opinions. I love the selection of tracks on Project Cars 2, especially the BTCC tracks and the classic GP ones. GT3 took forever to complete, this took no time at all. However, I have to say I'm disappointed by the number of tracks and also the length of the campaign mode. I love GT games, I like the semi simulator/arcade style of driving and of course the graphics and lighting are stunning. As the title says I'm a long time GT player (since GT3 on the PS2) but have finished the Career/Campaign mode and looking for something else to get my teeth into.
